Hey guys. Not that I have many friends on this site, but for those of you whom are my pals, I want you to know I'm busy at work creating a new Mateo strip. This will be ongoing for a while (I hope) and will take more the form of a comic than a cartoon strip. I want to harness a little more of the things I love about comic books and do away with anything I hate. As it happens, I love those old romantic comedic comic books and I want to put that, as well as some ass-kicking goodness, into my comics, as well as the old-school Spider-Man problems that Peter Parker had, where Stan Lee would just pile on the problems for poor Peter. Let's just say

I'm putting in my MATEO strips.  They are comic strips about the irony of life.  I have started to get a backlog of them and have no real place to put them, so enjoy these strips done completely by me.  Most are based off of the irony of life... at least, the ones I enjoy the most are based off of some ironic twist of fate.  I have colored the first two, though I don't know how many more I'm going to color because it's such a pain in the ass... it takes about twice as long to color a MATEO strip than it does to draw, though after flats the process of color is pretty fun.  We'll see. I should be posting every Tuesday and Thursday without fail

Sorry I haven't posted in a while.  Neglect is always bad, no matter if to an art piece, a person, or a website.  I apologize - Smashies Brawl has really taken over more of my life than I would have wanted it to.  I just have to start drawing again, though I have a feeling that what I draw will somehow have some relation to Brawl.  But I'll do my best to keep it real.
